I’m about to show you how to master the toughest leg exercise ever.
It’s called the Pistol Squat. It requires no equipment. And 99% of folks will never be able to do it.
But you will. :-)
All you need is a TRX, or even a towel, to hold onto. Just about anything will do as long as it’s secure.
You’ll be able to assist the movement with that until you’re able to build up to a full pistol squat.
You see, a big part of being able to do this super challenging movement is grooving the skill. Once your nervous system gets the timing and coordination, you’ll quickly develop the strength to go with it…
So we’re going to do the Assisted Pistol Squat:
How to…
1. Grab your TRX or a towel attached to something solid
2. Move back until you can lean away, supported
3. Balance on one foot, spine long and neutral
4. Other leg straight, pointed forward
5. Hinge at the waist, push the butt back
6. Bend the knee of the planted leg
7. Drop your butt to the floor, free leg straight to front
8. Press forcefully through the heel to come back up
9. Support your weight as needed by pulling with arms your arms
Over time, use your arms less and less. And before you know it, you’ll be one of the 1% of people who can pull off a full-on Pistol Squat. :-)
